The Demon Slayer Corps is an ancient organization that leads the centuries-old struggle against demons to protect humanity. They recruit highly-trained and extremely dedicated combatants who are willing to put their lives on the line to hunt down their dangerous adversaries. Hashiras are the highest-ranking members of the Demon Slayer Corps who are renowned for their incredible achievements in the fight between good and evil. These warriors are already supremely gifted, so it's almost impossible to stand out among them unless, of course, you're Muichiro Tokito.

Like Demon Slayer'sStone Hashira Gyomei Himejima, Tokito holds the unique distinction of earning the Hashira title in just two months. The Mist Hashira's seemingly frail appearance gives the impression that he is probably not that powerful, but nothing can be further from the truth. Muichiro is a dangerous combatant who combines his flamboyant swordsmanship with underrated physical attributes to outshine his peers and demons alike.

Muichiro is Not Just Incredibly Fast, But Also Supremely Strong

Mist Hashira Muichiro Tokito is special primarily because he can unleash an unexpected burst of attack on his adversaries with speeds akin to teleporting. Thanks to this unique ability, he is even able to fight on an equal footing against the Upper-Rank demons, who are notoriously fast. His reflexes are pushed to the extreme and truly tested when he fights Gyokko, the Upper-Rank Five alone. At one point during the battle, Mist Hashira slashes 10,000 slime-fish in a moment leaving his nemesis in a shock. He also demonstrates his extraordinary reflexes by somehow avoiding a thousand sharp poisonous needles thrown in his direction by Gyokko.

One key strength of the Upper-Rank Five was the ability to teleport between two distant pots, which made it incredibly hard for his foes to keep up with him. When Muichiro faced the same strategic hurdle, he relied on the Obscuring Clouds technique which amalgamates blinding bursts of attack with extremely slow movements to confuse the enemy. Despite Gyokko's instantaneous teleportation from one pot to another, the Mist Hashira not only managed to singlehandedly go toe-to-toe against his adversary but eventually decapitated him with his blindingly swift attack. But it was not just his immense speed or swift reflexes alone that allowed him to kill Gyokko.

During the fight with Muichiro, Gyokko claimed at one point that his neck was tougher than a diamond. The Mist Hashira still managed to behead the Upper-Rank Five because of his extraordinary strength, which is often overlooked by his adversaries because of his seemingly frail body. Interestingly, he had even decapitated Hantengu, the Upper-Rank Four on the same day- a unique accomplishment that none of his Hashira peers can claim to have achieved. Tokito even demonstrated his incredible strength when Tanjiro tried to stop him from bullying Kotetsu but could not even manage to budge him despite using all his strength.

While Muichiro's power and superior reflexes do help him to stand out, it is eventually his endurance and stamina that make the Mist Hashira extremely lethal in one-on-one combat. During the Infinity Castle Arc when he confronts Kokushibo, Muichiro's arm is cut off by the Upper-Rank One. Despite the brutal beatdown he receives, the Mist Hashira joins the fight soon afterward and displays immense courage. Kokushibo not only slices off his leg but also the entire torse. But despite going through the worst pain imaginable, Muichiro refuses to let go of his katana and helps his comrades defeat the Upper-Rank One. It is this superior endurance that makes him very dangerous.

The Mist Hashira Is a Force to Reckone With on the Battlefield

In the Demon Slayer Corps, there is no dearth of combatants who have high endurance and stamina or immense strength. While these are all critical physical attributes that benefit a demon slayer, they are certainly not enough to make one a Hashira. Tokito is a special individual as he is a gifted swordsman who has an innate skill of using Nichirin-bladed weapons with extreme precision and control. It should not be a surprise that he is the descendent of Kokushibo, who himself used to be a demon slayer during the Sengoku era.

As mentioned earlier, Tokito earned the coveted title of the Hashira in just two months after picking up a sword, which speaks volumes about his natural talent since even the most gifted members of the Demon Slayer Corps take years of training for it. Even the Upper-Rank One of the Twelve Kizuki was impressed by his fighting prowess and invited him to become a demon. The Flame Hashira Rengoku also praised his talent and even pointed out that he was nowhere near as skilled as him at his age. The driving force behind his flamboyant swordsmanship is the ever-present endless rage that has consumed him since his brother's death.

Muichiro used to train so relentlessly to become a skilled demon slayer at one point that he would even vomit blood. However, the desire to eradicate demons has been so overpowering on some occasions that he continued fighting despite his entire torse being sliced off. Using this pent-up rage, Tokito can tap into his indomitable willpower which further allows him to push past his limits. His extrasensory perception also comes into play during his fights giving him a large field of view that often catches his adversaries off-guard. One noticeable instance of this is in the Swordsmith Village arc, where Tokito sensed the presence of the Upper-Rank Five even when he was hiding in the bushes.

Like other Hashiras of his era, Muichiro has also awakened his Demon Slayer Mark. It gives him access to the Bright Red Nichirin Sword and Transparent World which when coupled together dramatically improves the lethality of his attacks and his perception of the enemy's weakness. The Demon Slayer Mark also enhances his speed, vitality, and power making him even more threatening.

In addition to all this, Muichiro is also the greatest Mist Breathing user of his generation. The breathing style adds a new layer to his flamboyant swordsmanship allowing him a unique range of attacks that often leave his adversaries dumbfounded. It's noteworthy that the Mist Breathing has seven forms in total that are named: Low Clouds, Distant Haze, Eight-Layered Mist, Scattering Mist Splash, Shifting Flow Slash, Sea of Clouds and Haze, Lunar Dispersing Mist, and Obscuring Clouds. When Tokito uses them alternatively against the demons, he becomes quite intimidating and almost flawless. All of these abilities and powers combine to make Mist Hashira Muichiro Tokito one of the most powerful members of the Demon Slayer Corps.
