How are eyelash extensions done?

Semi-permanent eyelash extensions come in an extensive range of lengths, thicknesses and curls to achieve the look and feel the client wants. We will then recommend the best length and curl of semi permanent lashes to suit your needs and based on the condition of your own lashes, but ultimately the choice is yours. The initial application of the semi permanent eyelash extensions will take approximately 2 – 2.5 hours during which the clients' eyes must remain closed until the end of the treatment. Once we start the application all you need to do is relax and keep your eyes closed. It’s totally painless.

• What are eyelash extensions?

  Eyelash extensions are an exciting new way to extend the length and thickness of your natural eyelashes. Lash extensions are single strands of synthetic eyelashes that are curved to replicate a natural eyelash. Not to be confused with the self-stick strip false lashes or individual clusters of lashes knotted together that are a single-event accessory, these semi-permanent, synthetic extensions are adhered one by one onto the natural lash (not the skin) by using a specially formulated adhesive that lasts a number of weeks. You cannot use any oil based makeup removers or products on the lashes or around the eyes. And if you decide to use mascara, only water-based mascara can be used on these eyelashes. The best care for these lashes is to just leave them alone. You appriciate the time it saves you in the morning when you pop out of bed looking bright-eyed as though your mascara and eye makeup is already done.

• Will eyelash extensions damage my natural eyelashes?

  No, it is a myth that they are damaging if applied correctly. Many of our clients have constantly had extensions applied with no break and they have never encountered their lashes being damaged. Damage can be caused by inexperienced therapists - it is important to have your lash extensions applied by a qualified specialist who uses top quality products and does not use excess glue or lashes too long or thick that can cause damage to your natural eyelashes.
