See Timothée Chalamet filming in N.J. with Edward Norton for Bob Dylan movie (2024)

Timothée Chalamet has been in Hoboken so much, we’re beginning to think he should get an honorary parking permit.

Chalamet, 28, was back in the Mile Square City Tuesday to film more scenes for the Bob Dylan movieA Complete Unknown.”

This time, the actor, who plays a young Dylan in the film, was with Edward Norton.

Norton, a three-time Oscar nominee (”Birdman,” “American History X,” “Primal Fear”), plays folk music great Pete Seeger in the movie, directed by James Mangold.

The film tells the story of Dylan’s rise from folk music fan and singing hopeful to super stardom in the 1960s, when he left Minnesota as a teen to come to New York.

Hoboken’s Columbus Park, where Chalamet was filming Tuesday, filled in for Manhattan’s Washington Square Park in the movie.

The “Dune” and “Wonka” actor, who is also an Oscar nominee for “Call Me By Your Name,” was seen strumming a guitar.

Chalamet sings in the film, which he is producing alongside Mangold and Dylan himself.

Norton and Chalamet also filmed in front of a clothing store window outfitted with period design.

Two weeks ago, Chalamet filmed in Cape May with another of his co-stars, Elle Fanning.

Emmy nominee Fanning (”The Great”), 26, plays a character named Sylvie inspired by Suze Rotolo, an artist who had a relationship with Dylan in the early ′60s.

Fanning previously filmed with Chalamet in locations including Paterson and Passaic.

Rotolo appeared with Dylan on the cover of his 1963 album “The Freewheelin’ Bob Dylan,” which was recreated with Fanning and Chalamet in the image for Columbia Records and CBS scenes filmed in Newark.

Cape May stood in for Newport, Rhode Island, site of the 1965 Newport Folk Festival, where Dylan first performed publicly with an electric guitar, upsetting some folk diehards.

It was at the Newport Folk Festival that Dylan first performed “Like a Rolling Stone,” the song that gives the movie its title, “A Complete Unknown.”

(“How does it feel?” Dylan sings. “To be on your own, with no direction home / A complete unknown, like a rolling stone.”)

The production used Jersey locals as background actors in the festival scenes, which also featured Norton and others in the cast.

In 1965, during his “electric” tour, Dylan married actor and model Sara Dylan, also known as Sara Lownds (born Shirley Noznisky). They had four children and lived in Woodstock, New York before divorcing in 1977.

The Mangold and Chalamet movie was scripted by Mangold and Jay co*cks (”Gangs of New York”) and is reportedly based on the 2015 book "Dylan Goes Electric!: Newport, Seeger, Dylan, and the Night That Split the Sixties” by Elijah Wald.

Chalamet and Mangold have been filming in Hoboken all spring, along with other local cities and towns, mostly in North Jersey, like Jersey City, Newark, Paterson, Passaic and Plainfield.

In April, Chalamet drew a crowd to the street outside Moran’s, a Hoboken pub that had been completely made over for the film to look like a ’60s McAnn’s bar and restaurant.

The cast of “A Complete Unknown” also includes Monica Barbaro (”Top Gun: Maverick”), who plays folk singer Joan Baez.

Baez had both a musical and romantic relationship with Dylan.

Barbaro and Chalamet sang together on set at Echo Lake Park in Mountainside.

Jersey actors P.J. Byrne (”Babylon”), who grew up in Old Tappan, and Charlie Tahan (”Ozark”), from Glen Rock, are also in the cast of “A Complete Unknown.”

Other members of the cast are Boyd Holbrook (“Logan”), Dan Fogler (the “Fantastic Beasts” movies) and Scoot McNairy (“12 Years a Slave”).

The Dylan movie, which also filmed in New York, started production in New Jersey in March.

Searchlight Pictures says filming will continue through June.
